South Coast and Jokulsarlon
From the charming villages of South Coast to the Floating Icebergs in Jokulsarlon. This spectacular tour will take you places where everything promises nothing but natural beauty.
We depart from Reykjavik in the morning and journey to the south coast. Our first stop over will be in the town of Hvollsvollur. Here we will have a short coffee break. Then we will continue to Seljalandsfoss, a beautiful waterfalls from the south where you can walk behind the curtain of water. Then to Skogarfoss another gem from the south, a magnificent waterfalls about 65 meters.
We will continue driving and stop at Myrdalur where you can enjoy a great view of Myrdalsjokull glacier.
As we journey we will have a short stop ove at the village of Vik, the black sand beach with fantastic basalt column formations as well as the Reynisdrangar will awe you.
We will head east of Myrdalssandur until we reach Skaftafell nature reserve in the Vatnajokull National Park. There we will have a short break.
Then to Jokulsarlon, the most famous glacier lagoon in Iceland.
You will enjoy the lagoon with its floating blue icebergs.
Accommodation will be at a nearby place.
In the evening is our great chance to see the Northern Lights.
On the second day, we will explore Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and have a boat ride. Then we will pull out our crampons and have a glacier hike at Skaftafell.
Before we drive back to Reykjavik, we will visit Dyrholaey.
