Thorsmork Action Tour


Thorsmork Action Tour — Adventure packed two days South Iceland tour. Get a load of outdoor activities such as hiking, glacial hiking, caving, ice climbing and a lot of sightseeing. South Iceland is jam packed with magnificent landscapes and oddly beautiful places you will never get tired of discovering, unveiling each places!

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Reykjavik and we will begin the first adventure which is caving in this mysterious cave in the Blue Mountains. We will crawl and walk inside the lava caves and witness the lava and ice formations within the cave tunnels. Then after this amazing caving experience is over, we will continue on the adventure and drive towards the south shore where you can have a sight at the beautiful waterfalls, Seljanlandsfoss, this 60 meters high waterfalls allows you to walk behind it and let you see it from the inside! And just couple of minutes from there we can have our hike into the narrow but spectacular river bed at the Stakkholtsgjá Canyon.

Dinner time would be an Icelandic lamb BBQ in the highland; Thorsmork. Valley of Thundergod, Thor as some locals call it, is a quite valley framed with mountains and glaciers. We will spend the night in a cozy sleeping bag accommodation in the Basar Chalets.

Day Two of the adventure starts from Thorsmork, as we will take the highway and visit Skogar waterfalls. Then followed by an adventurous tour off road on the black sandy beach.

From black sand beach to Winter paradise, we will then drive up along Jökulsá Glacier River to reach Sólheimajökull glacier. This will be our glacial hiking takes place. Our expert guide will teach you the basics as well as some safety guidelines so you can properly and safely enjoy the glacial hike. There will also be basic ice climbing, this will be a once in a lifetime experience; test your energy and climb up a glacier wall.

Before we head back to Reykjavik we will have an optional stop in Eyrarbakki where we can dine at one of the famous local seafood restaurants.
