Thorsmork (also known as The Woods of Thor) is a mountain ridge named after the Norse god Thor and is one of the beautiful natural wonders of South Iceland. It is located between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull, surrounded by natural barriers like mountains, unabridged waters and glaciers. It is also one of the most popular hiking areas in Iceland, so expect hiking adventures on this tour.
On the way to Thorsmork, we will stop by several glacial rivers and one of the most famous waterfalls in the country, Seljalandsfoss. Seljalandsfoss is unique and it is possible to walk behind the waterfall.
Once we are in Thorsmork, you will get a chance to view the recently erupted volcano in Eyjafjallajökull glacier as well as to see diverse flora and feel the breezy south wind. There are also various walking paths where you can take short or long hikes to explore Thorsmork, while being surrounded by colorful landscapes and breathtaking woodlands.
