Whale Watching and Blue Lagoon
DAY TOUR – A day of relaxation in the famous Blue Lagoon, adventurous whale watching, plus a visit to various places of interest in Reykjavik.
The day starts with a whale watching tour from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík at 08:55 am. The tour guide will tell interesting stories and tales about the whales and bird life of the area. Here, when the whales come out, you can take pictures and delight in their actions.
During puffin season (May 1- August 20) we will make a stop by puffin island and enjoy watching these amazing birds for awhile. The whole boat tour plus extra stop will take around 3 hours and expected arrival time back in the harbor is at 12:30.
After the whale watching tour, you will have an one hour break where you can either have lunch or explore the harbor or city center of Reykjavik. For eating, you can try the fine restaurants in Reykjavik’s Old Harbor offering seafood and other unique meals.
The tour continues at 13:30 where we will depart from Harpa Concert Hall which is within a walking distance from the Old harbour (approx. 10 min). Before heading to the Blue lagoon, we will do an alternate route which most tour operators overlook as we will have various stops and explore the other places of interest of Reykjavik. We go to The Pearl for a panoramic view of Reykjavik, Bessastaðir where the Icelandic President lives (photo stop and short walk), lava fields, black sand beach of Lake Kleifarvatn and the colorful hot spring area of Krýsuvík. You will also see volcanic craters and moonlike landscapes before arriving in Blue Lagoon
Once there, you´ll be able to soak and relax for at least two hours in the milky waters of the lagoon. If you are not fond of bathing, you can take a scenery tour of Blue Lagoon with multiple photo opportunities. You must take note though that the entrance is not included in the tour package.
