Northern Lights Voyager
Explore Iceland in two days and discover dramatic landscapes, wild nature, oddly beautiful lava formations with the Icelandic Monster-Jeeps. We will also catch the fantastic Northern Lights. Northern Lights Voyager is all about the magnificent Iceland and its mystifying northern sky.
Expert guides will pick you up from where you stay in Reykjavik and head right to the Blue Mountains where we will not only explore an ancient lava field but the world hidden beneath it as well. We will crawl, duck and walk through the lava tubes. We will unveil the weird yet amazing lava formations inside the tubes as well as some precious rocks on the walls and ceilings. The wonderful blue icicles also give additional beauty to the already magnificent cave.
After the caving activity we will move forward to the legendary valley of Thor, passing along 1000 river road, the famous Seljanlandsfoss waterfalls (where we will have our lunch) and when we reach Thorsmork you will definitely enjoy the breathtaking views. We will eat an Icelandic lamb BBQ dinner in a quiet yet magnificent highland setting of Thorsmork valley. Three proud towering glaciers guard Thorsmork, the Mýrdalsjökull, Eyjafjallajökull and Tindfjallajökull glaciers. This is one of the reasons why Thorsmork is a very impressive place.
On our second day, we will depart from Thorsmork and head down to Skogarfoss passing through black sandy beach. We will have a visit at Sólheimajökull glacier where we will have an easy glacial walk. And as we glide along the glacier, our friendly and informative tour guide will give us more facts about Iceland and its glaciers as well as teach you tips and techniques on glacial hiking so the next time you will visit (which we are pretty sure you will) you will be more knowledgeable and enjoy the tour better.
And within the two days of fun and action, be sure to look up in the sky every now and then, especially during dark, to be able to witness the wonderful show in the sky.
When we head home we will have this optional stopover in the small town of Eyrarbakki. In this town, you can experience the true Icelandic seafood dishes. We will drive you back to Reykjavik after Northern Lights Voyager tour.
